June, oh springy June

So of course I'm excited that it's the month of my lovely hubby's birthday. He's finally going to be my age. Well, at least for six months. Come December, he'll be teasing me about how I'm six months older than him. Yeah, I get it honey!

Something about June...I can't quite put my finger on it. But I love the flowers, the sun is out longer, coffee tastes sweeter and I feel like there's more time to daydream.

We've been getting our toes wet in the sand more often at the beach now. We visited Fernandina Beach for Sunil's birthday at our fav. neighborhood pizza place - Arte's Pizza - simply the best and freshest. Follow that with fudge and ice cream on a warm evening and you know your birthday went well.

I love that my life has been about appreciating the small things. I love that Sunil loves watching the grass get greener and that Sohan can chase a little lizard like it was the most exciting thing ever. And I love the influence Saloni has had on me. Whether its about dressing better "more colorful mom, no beige!" or saving money or taking time to relax - she truly is a girl's best friend.

So I guess I feel good about June. I miss my sisters and their families that never find time to visit. I miss all my CA friends. I miss my parents. But you know, having married Sunil has taught me the real meaning of family. I've never known a family to be so big yet so close. Always visiting, always inviting.
